The intenet of this course is to introduce students to the concepts, approaches and implementation issues associated with data acquisition for infrastructure systems. Students will be introduced to the types of data that is collected about infrastructure systems, excitation mechanisms, sensing technologies, data acquisition using sensors, signal pre-processing and post-processing techniques, and use of sensing in a variety of applications in construction and infrastructure management. Students will also gain experience with data acquisition hardware and software. Prerequisities: graduate standing or permission if instructor
