A variety of specific approaches have been developed for the management of environmental impacts for firms and products. This course provides an overview of environmental tools and methods for management of industrial processes. Regulatory permitting processes, reporting and record-keeping, corporate environmental management systems and certifications, risk management, corporate environmental reports, voluntary environmental programs, extended product responsibility and reverse logistics are discussed. Prerequisite: senior standing in engineering or permission of the instructor.
