The Winners Are Announced
Apr 21, 2007 8:31 pm | by Terry Shyu

The Awards Ceremony started with the white tent completely filled with a cheering crowd devoid of any walking space.  The wackiness of Spring Carnival 2007 is at its peak.

The ceremony opened with the buggies' award.  The Spirit of Buggy Award goes to the Radio Club.  The Chairman's Choice goes to AEPi because they dropped 25 seconds since last year's buggy races.  The design competition awards go to Fringe's "Banyan" for first place, Fringe's "Bantam" places second, and KDR's "Perun" places third.  The T-shirt Award goes to SDC.  KDR wins again for design with People's Choice Award.

SDC's "Psychosis" places first for the Women's race, PiKA's "Wyvern" second, and Fringe's "Bantam" third.  For Men's races, PiKA's "Zeus" places first for the 6th year in a row, Fringe's "Banyan" second, PiKA's "Wyvern" third, SDC's "Addiction" fourth, Fringe's "Bantam" fifth, and SigNu's "King of Spades" sixth.

For the booths awards, this year the judges added a special award "My Heart Is Trapped Under the Work," which goes to CIT first-year Tom Lewkowitz, due to the accident that happened during booth construction when the Mudge booth's roof was ripped off and then dropped back down by heavy winds.

The T-shirt Award goes to Delta Delta Delta, and the People's Choice Award goes to Theta.  The alumni voted and gave out the Alumni Award to SigEp.  The Environmental Award goes to SigEp as well.  The Chairman's Award for blitz booths goes to Hamerschlag.

For the independent category of booths, ASA places first, TSA second, and Fringe third.  Kappa Alpha Theta gets first place for the sororities' category; Delta Gamma gets second, and Delta Delta Delta third.  In the fraternities' category, SigEp wins first place, AEPi second, and PhiKap third.
