The theme of the fall 2006 Dancers’ Symposium show – “Funkified” – may not do the show justice. Dancers’ Symposium is a biannual performance featuring diverse dance acts, ranging from hip-hop to classical ballet to ethnically traditional routines, all of which are expertly executed by Carnegie Mellon students. The show that took place on December 8 and 9 was no exception. In addition to “funkier” dance pieces, Funkified showcased raving, Afro-Caribbean, lyrical, and many more styles.
