On Saturday, April 22, one could hear shrieks, screams, and loud cheering coming from the main tent on Midway. These noises were not a cause for alarm, for they came from the many organizations who participated in booth and buggy this year as the awards for both activities were given out.

The first award given out was for best blitz booth, which went to the Student Dormitory Council's Forbes House and Global Studies House for their "Oregon Trail" themed booth. Unlike competition booths, blitz booths tend to be smaller and less complicated than booths created by organizations that compete. Next came the Environmental Award, which goes to the most environmentally friendly booth. This year, the award went to Alpha Epsilon Pi for its "Ancient Aztec" booth. After that, Kappa Delta Rho was awarded the Alumni Association's Best of Show Award for its "Arabian Nights" booth. Delta Gamma also picked up an award for Best T-Shirt Design.

After the special awards came the sorority booth awards. Delta Delta Delta came in third with its "Beatles Magical Mystery Tour" booth. In second place was Delta Gamma with its "The Wild West" booth. Finally, Kappa Alpha Theta's "Atlantis" booth earned the sorority first place.

In the independent organization category, the Singaporean Student Association walked away with third place for its "Singapore Street Opera" booth. The Taiwanese Students Association came in second place for its "Asian Night Market" booth. As for first place, the award went to the Asian Students Association for its "ASA in Wonderland" booth.

Probably the most anticipated awards, however, were the fraternity booth awards. Phi Kappa Theta's "Area 51" booth won third place, while Kappa Delta Rho, last year's winner, came in second place with its booth. This year's first place award went to Sigma Phi Epsilon for its "Long Ago in a Galaxy Far Away" booth.
