Lunar Gala "X": The Best of Fashion, Part 1
Feb 28, 2006 10:31 am | by Tess Smagorinsky

Saturday, February 25, marked Carnegie Mellon's tenth annual Lunar Gala. Lunar Gala was created ten years ago to celebrate the Lunar New Year and creativity through fashion and dance. The event is produced, coordinated, designed, and performed by students, and has become more diverse and elaborate every year since its inception. This year's Lunar Gala theme was “X,” to show how clothing can be “extreme,” “exciting,” etc.

The evening was a smash success, resorting to some standing-room-only attendance and a surprise appearance by actor-comedian Adam Sandler in the audience. The show ran so smoothly that it was easy to forget you weren’t actually attending a show at Fashion Week in New York City or Milan – Carnegie Mellon sure knows how to do fashion!
