More buses for the Squirrel Hill crowd
Sep 20, 2005 10:04 pm | by Patricia Stallings

The Port Authority of Allegheny County has recently added two new buses for Squirrel Hill commuters. The 61D Summerset and the 61F Homestead Park became effective September 6 in response to increasing demand for public transportation for Murray Avenue between Forbes and Forward Avenues. Both buses will serve Pittsburgh's Downtown, Oakland, and Squirrel Hill areas, much like the 61C and the 59U, up to the intersection of Murray and Forward Avenues. The 61F follows the routes of the 61C and the 59U to Homestead Park and Lincoln Place, while the 61D goes down Forward Avenue toward the Summerset at Frick Park.
